The QSFP-40G-SR4 transceiver supports a link length of up to 100 meters on multimode fiber @OM4 at 850nm wavelength. It is adapted with an MTP/MPO-12 connector. This means it has 4 TX lasers and 4 RX receivers inside, corresponding to the 8 fibers in the MTP-12.
40G QSFP+ SR4 transceiver is suitable for distribution layer and core layer connections. For instance, 40G to 4x10G breakout connection by 10GBASE-SR/CSR transceivers and MTP-LC Break-out cable.
